Here's another photo loaned by Anita Hart Fuller and it is also a very interesting one. It shows three ladies standing outside a house (and we know which house it was) and posing for the photographer. It has these names on the back.

So the person who wrote this did not know the first lady on the left. But she looks so much like the lady in the middle that they have to be relatives. The third lady, on the right, was Grace Neal. I remember that she may have been the original owner of the Ideal Shop, a dress store for women in downtown Searcy AR. My children's grandmother Smith worked there and enjoyed being in the midst of the latest fashions, especially hats, that were available in Searcy.
This picture, no doubt, shows the style of the day, and the ladies are dressed as much alike then as ladies do today. I think these three would be horrified, however, to see the current style of distressed jeans with holes up and down the legs! In fact, they really thought that women should always wear dresses and hose. Times do change! And it is interesting to take a look back.
The house? Oh, yes. It is located on Pioneer Road and was the home of the Fuller family for many years.

Sorry, Barbara, but Grace Neal was NOT the owner of The Ideal Shop. That was Annie Neal, mother of MaryElla Neal. Grace was the mother of Charlotte and Clydell, She owned Grace Neal Florest and played excellent piano and accompanied many of the Men's Social Clubs, AND The Kiwanis Minstrel. Her husband's name was Clyde Neal. Mrs. Annie Neal's husband was Henry Neal, they lived at 503 W. Center, telephone 65. Now that I've written this - I MAY be wrong! Someone correct me....if so.
