Yesterday, we drove to Los Alamos (The Cottonwoods). It is a quaint, charming little Old West town (population1910) in the Santa Ynez Valley. It is part of the wine growing region of Santa Barbara County. One of our friends told us that there was a new restaurant in town, that we should experience. (We will share our experience in another post).
As we walked out, we spotted the sign pictured above. It made us laugh, and it reminded us of the importance of being in the now and enjoying every moment as it unforlds.
As one of our favorite philosophy writers, Alan Watts wrote: "The future is a concept, it doesn't exist. There is no such thing as tomorrow. There never will be, because time is always now. That is one of the things we discover, when we stop talking to ourselves and stop thinking. We find there is only present, only an eternal now."
Enjoy your moments of now as you move through the infinite nows of your day, your week, your months and your years. It is what life is all about!
