We aren’t what we say. We are what we do. 
In other words, actions speak louder than words. Success in today’s work place means pursuing it by being top of mind and consistently putting yourself in front of business. Nothing compares to face-to-face interactions.
Participating in online conversations will get you internet acknowledgment but getting out in the local community will get you real-time, people-to-people attention. Some ways to get out and about to meet and greet:
- Sponsor an event
- Volunteer your time
- Join the Chamber of Commerce
- Get a booth at a trade show
- Take a college course
Recently, I volunteered to be a hostess for the 2018 NJCAA Division I Softball Championships under the hospitality tent and also for a Special Olympics event. I met some amazing volunteers and several conversations were struck up with information exchanged.
Will I get their future business?
Not sure but I absolutely had an enjoyable day and made a positive difference by being there! New home-buyer clients recently told me they were excited to work with me because they felt the passion I have for the industry.
