How can you find the best online survey places...without wasting your time?

Have you ever done online surveys?  I did...years ago.  And, I have to be honest.  I thought they were a complete waste of my time.

If you got suckered into some of those spammy survey sites that sound too good to be true, well sometimes they are.

I did a bit of this 2006 when I was in between jobs.  I figured it's easy to do surveys and if I get paid, even better.  But most of the sites just had surveys that I didn't qualify for...and then got paid nothing or they'd enter me into a drawing that led to ...you got it...nothing.  Or, else I would just get some points, and the points wouldn't really amount to anything until you hit a certain threshold, and by then I had lost interest.

Well I've learned since that there are some real people (who I know) making some real money from paid surveys.  It's not a ton of money, but if you're looking for some extra money, they can be an easy/mindless way to earn some additional cash.  Yes, some pay cash...although it may in fact be wired to your paypal account.

So, my friends Maleah and Russell have done a lot of surveys over the years and they've been able to sort the wheat from the chaff.  Check out their review on Survey Junkie, as this is one of the ones that have earned them some good money.  They also have a link at the bottom of this article to other survey places that have worked well for them.

They are a young couple and primarily earn money via their blogging efforts.  But, a few years ago, they would do surveys on a regular basis.  And, they know that if they are ever having an off month, they can earn a bit more by doing some surveys.

Surveys can really be a good way for recent grads to make some extra money...because while they won't earn you enough for a full time job, for recent grads, the extra money will really come in handy.  Also, as I've learned from many bloggers, if you do have an interest in this, it's usually helpful to enroll in 3 to 4 places, so you have more opportunities to earn money.

I wouldn't recommend surveys as your main source of income, but if you're looking for a side gig, they can be great, especially as the time is flexible, and you can do as you have time available.  Also, if you are in between jobs, it can be a good way to earn a bit of income and decompress from the job search...which at times can be frustrating and stressful.
