It's Almost Half-Time

2008

It is amazing how quickly the minutes turn to hours and the hours to days, then days to months and so on.

We find ourselves in the second quarter of the year already and it feels like the holidays just ended.  In terms of business planning and tweaking and keeping ourselves on track we are approaching the half way mark of the year.

 Keys to focus on

•1.    Don't wait till you're at the halfway mark to make corrections!

•2.    Re-evaluate your plan and it's effectiveness

•3.    Do a gut check on how you are doing

•4.    Re-focus on where you are right NOW ...and redefine where you want to be at years end!... (then write it down)

The beauty of our business regardless of what the market is like is that a person can put together a great week or two or three and earn as much in that period of time as many people earn in a year.

Real estate really does afford us the freedom to create as much wealth and free time as we can stand providing that we have our systems in place and we are consistent.  The issue that many REALTORS face is the lack of a systematic plan which will provide proven results.

So as we re-evaluate our plan and its effectiveness thus far for the year, we've got to look at the systems we have (or don't have) in place and make some adjustments.

I've interviewed a number of top producing agents in recent years that are working less and less and making more and more.  The key for all of them is the systems they are employing to make this happen. I've had the opportunity to interview huge producers from RE/MAX, Century 21, Coldwell Banker, Realty Executives, Prudential, Keller Williams and many independents and the common thread is that they are using a concept called leverage which happens to be the third L in the three L's talked about in the book, The Millionaire Real Estate Agent.

Many of these top agents are simply using this book as the basis for their business plan because many keys for success are in the book regardless what level you are currently operating at.

It's very seldom that I tout a book that's not mine but I've got to tout this one.  For the agent that is serious about building a business and is learning based, this book is a must.  It is available everywhere.

The reason is that it contains the complete systematic formulas that 26 mega agents from all different companies and all different areas of the country used to achieve success.  This is then boiled down to a set of agreed upon systems that flat work. This book, more than anything ever written before, takes all the mystery out of the real estate business.

O.K.....so you're one of those people that says I don't have time to read...fine! Even though I suggest that you have the printed copy it is now available on CD so that you can now listen to it in your car as you drive from place to place.

If you don't have the book and you are only going to read one book all year, you owe it to yourself, your business and more importantly to your family to go buy it and read it or listen to it!

As our market changes it's those working with the best systems and the best plans that continue to do well.  We are seeing a different market condition now, so it's time to buck up and employ good systems.
