Mondo Roots Festival
The Scoop: Empowering the Community By Celebrating Diversity! The Clayton Visual Arts and Earth Plow Productions present Mondo Roots 2018! This year's festival, a FREE event, will include an array of funk, jazz, blues bands and world music playing in the heart of Clayton NC! Some of the crowd fan favorite vendors will be back featuring arts and crafts, and some exciting new artists and performers will be added! This festival aims to bring multiple cultures, races, and walks of life together to celebrate diversity and to make a stronger community - from food to dance, you are sure to see every continent represented!

2018 Tour de Coop
The Scoop: The Tour de Coop is a tour that features hens and coops tucked into the gardens of your friends and neighbors throughout Raleigh and Wake County! All tour proceeds benefit Urban Ministries of Wake County.

Skywatching at Dix Park
The Scoop: Join staff and volunteers from the Morehead Planetarium & Science Center,Chapel Hill Astronomical and Observational Society (CHAOS) and Raleigh Astronomy Club (RAC) for a free skywatching program at Dorothea Dix Park! Telescopes will be set up to view stars and the moon. Look up at the night sky as educators guide you through fun observations of stars, planets, moons, nebulae and other celestial objects! The Triangle Sax Ensemble will be performing at Dix Park while you look at the stars. Bring a blanket and come enjoy the sounds of jazz and Big Band music from 8-10 PM.
