Education & Training with Versil

The spring season is such a wonderful break, after the long winter we can finally enjoy spending some hours outdoors and the natural breeze. It is also a great time to inspect your home for leaks and any damage that may have happened during winter.

Spring comes with so many amazing opportunities, the weather is wonderful, and it is time to get the mats ready for thos affordable yoga retreats that have been marked on your calendar.

Regarding your home, there are some essential tips that can help you ensure that every area of your home is without a flaw. The following guide will help you carry out an extensive inspection of both the interior and exterior parts of your home during the spring season.

Areas to check outdoors

The Yard – The first area you should inspect is the yard; find out if there is any trace of snow, dead leaves, or other kinds of dirt that may have accumulated during winter. Clear out your yard so that it is habitable all through the spring.

Where did you hide your outdoor furniture during the winter? This is the time to bring them out                     again. However, inspect them first to know if there is a need for quick repairs.

At this time your gutters should be filled with some debris and leaves, ensure that the gutters are cleared. But if it sounds like too much work, there are many home improvement companies that you can employ to clean your gutters.

Inspecting the exterior part of your home

Check the roof. In many cases, the roof is usually affected by the winter; you may need a professional roof engineer to inspect the state of your roof. Find out if some shingles have been pulled off by the icy cold winter winds or whether some piping has been damaged. If you decide to use professional services, a complete assessment will be done, and you will be provided with the report.

Inspect the walls outside. The water from melted snow may have had a negative impact on your walls. Check for stains, holes, and other kinds of damage on the exterior walls.

Check the windows. It is likely that you haven’t used your windows for many weeks. They may need to be serviced or repaired if any damage is observed. The window seals and sash should be perfect to avoid leaks.

Inspecting the interior part of your home

Cleaning your home – It is time for proper cleaning to be done. Older adults may need to use the services of home cleaning companies for this task, but if you can handle the interior cleaning of your home waste no time to get started.

Check the air conditioning system – There may be days during spring when the weather might get too hot, and you will need your air conditioner functioning perfectly. The assessment of your air conditioner should be done by a qualified technician. Your role is to turn it on, if you feel it is not functioning properly, call a technician.

Have your plumbing inspected – The cold winter may have compromised some of your plumbing and pipes outdoors. Frozen pipes can develop leaks after winter. According to Boulder Plumber, it is important that your pipes and plumbing are expertly checked during spring to ensure that there are no leaks or damage.
