As I looked back at some of my older posts, I found a few re-occurring trends in my early blogging. When I first started blogging, I rarely allowed others to re-blog my posts. Similarly, I found lots of other areas for improvement in my blog settings. My early posts only had one or two tags. When I was editing these posts, I made sure to add many more relevant tags to the post. Additionally, it seems I wasn’t aware of the hyper local settings when I first started blogging. Many of my edits involved adding geographic tags to my posts. Overall, I found a few pieces of outdated information and spelling/grammatical errors. However, I also was surprised in some cases by the level of writing in my early posts. These posts were often entertaining and witty, something that seems to have dissipated in my recent posts.
In my edits, I often added more photos. Additionally, I have recently started trying to incorporate Pinterest into my marketing efforts more. I created graphics and pinned many of my older posts during this process.
Lastly, I found many of my earlier posts lacked hyperlinks to both outside sources, and internal lead generation opportunities. I added these in to my posts whenever possible. Below are my 10 posts I edited for this contest. I hope to continue to edit more than just these ten as time permits.
