Monday is Memorial Day, as I am sure everyone reading this already knows. Here in Hawai'i I am always amazed at the many cultural ways.
A Unique Memorial Day Gift ... Home Made
We get a note home from the school. Memorial Day is upon us. Please have your child make a lei for the veterans and have them at the school, ready for pick up by the Department of Defense. My wife went around the neighborhood with the kids picking a variety of plumeria flowers to make the leis. This will be her first time making leis NOT on a cruise ship. My wife and two kids made three leis. I was so proud of them. They did a great job. So, I brought the leis to the school where they would then go to lay on a gravesite of soldier. What a great way to memorialize great, couragious men ... and women.
