Should I Care About Location Asks The Long Island Home Buyer

By
Real Estate Agent with The Top Team @ Charles Rutenberg Realty 255 Executive Dr, Plainview NY 11803

YES, Start Here:

Before you buy the house or condo that may seem like it has everything you’ve ever wanted, take some time to consider a few things -
  • beyond the price
  • beyond the style
  • beyond the condition

Location, location, location.

We've all heard this term used many times.  Well, location does remain one of the most important factors when buying a home or condo. However, because everyone has different needs, your own lifestyle will determine the best location for you to live.

Many recommend that before you start house hunting, you should be looking for your location. What may be an ideal location for one buyer, might be totally different for another. After all, there's no point
getting attached to a house that's in an area you don't like.  Let's face it, location is mostly a matter of how it makes one feel to be in a particular place. Some like suburban living while others like city life. While some buyers want neighbors close by, others may want a secluded wooded location with acreage.

Visit the location of your choice at different times of the day. This way you can get to know the quality of the area. Sometimes little details can make a big difference. Schools, views, recreation, transportation, traffic and entertainment can all be factors in finding the right location.

What is the right location? Be sure to consult with a well-respected Realtor before making your decision. Remember, the three most important factors in buying a house are still location, location, and location.

So should you care about location?

Yes, location is an important element. It can be more important than the type of architecture, the number of rooms, or the updates it has. Remember, the location is the one thing that can't be changed, painted or renovated. At the end of the day, a home's location is all about the quality of life it will bring you.

Once you have a good sense of what kind of neighborhood is best for your needs on Long Island's North Shore, then it's time to call  Realtors Lawrence "Larry" and Sheila Agranoff to help you with the choices available.

Bottom Line: Location is not a one size fits all...

Hi Sheila and Larry... as trite as it may seem, there's a reason the expression "location, locaton, locaton" has been around for so long.

Good advice for buyers in all areas, Larry and Sheila.  You can change or update much in any property, but you can't do anything about the location.

Sheila and Larry, this is great advice. It sounds cliche but, location, location, location always matters when it comes to real estate.

People are so driven by price and trying to find a good deal that they sometimes forget to consider that location plays a large role in what the pricing is.  If it's the lowest priced area in a market, perhaps they should check it out further and find out why it is less desired?

Hello Sheila and Larry. There is a reason why "location" is repeated three times so often.

The RIGHT CHARLOTTE REALTOR!

Oh, what a wonderful post, Sheila! And, yes, it's all about the location and the best way to 'check out' a community is, indeed, to visit at different times of the day (and night)!

BTW, I tried and tried to comment on your post about clients - for several days now. I have no idea why but, my comment won't post to save my soul! So, I saved my comment to keep trying. Anyway, here is my comment to you about that post too:

I've experienced all of these types of clients, both i the past and the present. The tough part for me is that although they are definitely time consuming, I've put so much work into each one, it's tough to throw up my hands and say "No Mas!"

Great list, Sheila! Happy Friday!

Lawrence "Larry" & Sheila Agranoff. Cell: 631-805-4400 - Location is important. However, when understanding the quality of life before hand, buyers can have the confidence to move forward. Your advice is priceless!!!
