HOW WOULD YOU INFORM A BUYER OF THIS?
I think I have heard everything now--Buyers in The Hamptons are falling victim to more and more of this sort of disruption:
BUYERS CLAIM THEY DID NOT KNOW ABOUT TRASHY TV SHOW FILMING NEXT DOOR
More and more we are finding the bucolic environment of the Hamptons, the reason most people come here and even choose to live here for over 2 centuries, are being whittled away. Privacy rights do not exist here--you rely on your local politicians to see to it that you can enjoy a peaceful way of life when you buy a home in The Hamptons.
Slowly but surely, those who find the need to advertise "Party Town" happenings here in The Hamptons, are gaining attention and those who are looking for a "Party Town" atmosphere come here in greater and greater numbers to Party Down!!
We are losing the peace and quiet that is an intrinsic part of life here---We are losing the very reason celebrities chose to come here in the first place: A place of complete and total respect of privacy for ALL!
Those celebrities who found their way here in years past, did so knowing that they would be left alone--that their privacy would be as precious to the famous souls as the it is to the locals!--It was an unspoken promise!
It has all changed--The last few years have proven to be more of a big city way of entertaining--Not the normal clam bakes on the beach and lawn parties at dusk in a private home
Right on the front of the magazines that pile up in frontof stores and other places of business, you can see the stories: "Wild and Crazy party of the year", "Jazzy Digs in this mansion on the ocean"..."Throngs gather to see the performance of 'Name any Group'"
This is what fills the magazines here---Stories of flagrant deisregard for local laws and zoning requirements--permits are needed for ALL film shooting here in The Hamptons.
And now you have this: "SUMMER HOUSE" HAMPTONS SHOW HITS PERMIT HICCUP
Bet these neighbors will be beside themselves before the summer is over!! Somethng tells me it is the Water Mill address mentioned above!
The Hamptons--Ahhh...bucolic meadows and quiet neighborhoods...
Why is it necessary to make this beautiful place a hellish trash heap of bad parties and even worse behavior???
I blame the folks who market to the party goers and who advertise this way of life here--and I must admit, I also blame the towns who allow the film/party permits for these major disruptions to take place!
