Is Craigslist Still Worth the Effort?

Real Estate Technology with Zurple

Craigslist...remember that? Before Facbeook was all the rage, it was Craigslist. Much like how we complain about Facebook's changes today...Craigslist made so many changes that caused real estate agents to leave the platform almost entirely.

Here is why we think Craigslist is worth a second look:

1. Not much competition

Agents are spending a lot of time and money on other avenues of online marketing, that they are neglecting this free option. With less players on the field, it's easier to score a goal.

2. People still visit Craigslist for housing reasons

Next to jobs, housing is one of the more popular reasons people go to Craigslist. Rentals, roommates, and real estate for sale are among the biggest draws to Craigslist for most people.

3. It's another place to find FSBOs

This is a great place to approach FSBOs that are sick of all the cold calls. Send them a mock up single property website of their home and offer a few services to entice them to list their home with you so they aren't leaving money on the table by doing it themselves.

Those are the 3 big reasons we think it is worth a second look. What about you? Do you think it's not worth considering? Or are you still using Craigslist with some success? Let us know in the comments!

Good morning Zurples. I use Craigs list for many things and it is a good and singular place.

Talk about less players on the field. Under services you barely can find maybe one Realtor now that Craigslist charges $5 per ad for 30 days. I just started using the real estate services since it's that cheap, no competition and the SEO is top notch.
