Good morning Carol. Chicago does not get 300 days of sunshine, but I get sunshine every time I see my grandson and that works for me! Enjoy your day!

I can appreciate Eastern Washington and all its beauty but being from the western part of the state I will never see 300 days of sunshine guaranteed Carol.

We need to put a little caveat on California's weather.  Sometimes that sunshine arrives in the form of "liquid sunshine."  However, we've been missing the liquid form in the last few years, and it has caused drought!

Ha Ha Carol you had me laughing, someone who lived in Austria, Germany, CT, NY & MA and now for the past 20+ years in Los Angeles there is nothing that compares to a temperate climate where we complain that it is freezing at 50 degrees and complain that it is too hot when it is over 75 degrees.... Carol, thank you for sharing Wenatchee, Wa.  Until I met you in ActiveRain, I had never heard of your '300 days of sunshine' location.  By the video, it seems just a wonderful place.  Certainly sounds like a native Indian name...I was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin and when growing up, I recall we were surrounded and lived in the midst of many Indian reservations and communities...lots of native Indian tribal names...the Oneida's, the Keshena's, the Menominee's, the Chippewa's,  the Potawatomie's.... (some of these branches of the Iroquois Nation).....

Hi Endre Barath, Jr. ,
What's the fun in a temperant climate?  We enjoy the 4 seasons and all the fun in the sun that comes with them.

Hi Jane Chaulklin-Schott ,
Yes, Central Washintgton (all of Washington really) is definitely Native American country.  Wenatchee was named after the Wenatchi tribe.  Not sure why the spelling change. There were many, many tribes in this area.  There are two major confederated tribal reservations located in the state now and many smaller reservations.  See this map

I don't have any idea how many sunny days we have, so I just did a google search and apparently my area gets about 100 sunny days a year. 300 would be amazing!

HI Carol Williams - Out of pocket a lot last week so I missed a lot of the posts. I think Wenatchee has a similar misconception tied to it just like Sedona. I think of Washington as rain, rain everywhere. You have now dispelled that notion! Thank you.  (I have only been to the coast from Seattle to Portland.

Sedona also has 300 days of sunshine. People think of it in the same breath with Phoenix, as a hot desert area. As you know, the climate is different. We have to keep plugging away!

Hi Kat Palmiotti ,
I grew up in Western Oregon which, like Western Washington, has lots of rain.  I love living in Central Washington where we have four seasons and lots of sunshine!  Thanks for stopping by and reading about the place I call home.

Hi Sheri Sperry - MCNE® ,
Way less than 1/2 of the state of Washington is on the west side of the Cascade Mountains.  We call that the "Wetside" not the westside.  LOL  Here in Central and Eastern Washington it's a whole different world.   I hear what you're saying about Sedona.  I have been there several times and understand the geographic difference.  Many don't.  We are here to enlighten, aren't we?  Happy Monday.
