Suicide is an extremely agonizing topic significantly affecting many of us with the recent high profile suicides. Both my grandfather & stepmother committed suicide. Those of us that loved them were devastated, turning inward, grieving the ultimate, untimely loss of their lives.
Unlike an accident, suicide is intentional, which feels much like they're doing it, not only to themselves, but to all those they leave behind. My father survived a suicide attempt and was angered that he was discovered unconscious, alone on the floor. After recovering, he married the woman who saved his life. They were married nearly 30 years until he died at age 74 of a head injury. I am so happy and thankful to have had those additional years with him, sharing so many memorable life events: marriage, the birth of my daughter, travel, family celebrations & so much more. Because there is...SO MUCH MORE!!
