Summer's here and the living is easy! Several South Florida cities have planned family-friendly events at public parks & venues for both residents & visitors. Following is a round-up of upcoming free events at selected cities:
MIAMI: At 8:00pm on the 4th Friday of every month, the public is invited to Barnacle Historic State Park to watch a free movie. Scheduled features are the Black Panthers on June 22, 2018, Coco on July 22, 2018 and Star Wars-The Last Jedi on August 24, 2018;
FT. LAUDERDALE: Fort Lauderdale will host its 'Starlight Musicals', i.e. free concerts from 7:00-10:00pm every Friday from June 8, 2018 to August 10, 2018 at Holiday Park. It will also continue to host its popular "Sunday Jazz Brunch" on the first Sunday of each month from 11:00am-2:00pm at Esplanade Park;
HOLLYWOOD: Visit the city's Arts Park every Friday from 5:00-8:00pm through September 2018 for free concerts;
DANIA BEACH: The city's 'Jammin in the Park' series consists of free acoustic events held from 1:00-4:00pm on the 4th Friday of each month, through September 2018, at Secret Wood Park;
POMPANO BEACH: Pompano is hosting 'Old Town Untapped' every first Friday of the month through September 2018. From 6:00-9:00pm, enjoy music, free local beer samples, food trucks & more at the CRA at 100 W.Atlantic Blvd. Also, on July 13, 2018, the city will host a free concert from 7:00-9:00pm at the Pompano Great Lawn (on the corner of Atlantic & Pompano Beach Blvds).
