Think Thin Thursday ~ The Lighter Side of "Resistance" Training

John Pinette  1964 - 2014

His resume' is long and storied from Broadway, movies, television and of course as a stand-up comedian. Usually making lite of his stature and weight in his routines and also his love of food, his passing was a shock at the young age of fifty.

John died of natural causes as a result of a pulmonary embolism. He was trying to be more healthy and had lost over a hundred pounds from what I've read. A couple of minor surgeries may have exacerbated his weakened condition and he let his Twitter followers know he was going to take a break. His tweet went something like this. "I didn't give myself enough time to heal this past fall and it has caught up to me but I'm on the mend and I promise to hit the stage as soon as humanly possible so I can once again have the honor of making you all laugh.

He was unable to fulfill that promise!

He was a wonderful comedien and we were deprived of a real talent when he died so young.

He truly took his comedy to heart which made him a huge (no pun intended) success although nuch of his subject matter at the same time caused his demise. RIP John!

Good morning Kevin. Seldom listen to videos posted here in the Rain due to time constraints. Listened to this one. Now, when I quit laughing, I will be out of time to spend more time here. I have to have a very good reason to show a video that runs longer than a minute and John Pinette earned hours of my viewing time without the blink of an eye. Let me know if you break that law, I want to know how?

Good morning, Kevin J. May so sad and at such a young age..... all I can think of is "I dodged that bullet" because I focused on getting healthy.... I had weight loss surgery and never looked back.... now I'm enrolling in a personal trainer program with the main goal of getting certified and training weight surgery people....most never hit their ideal weight.... and end up gaining it all back... focus and discipline...first requirements..... being mindful everyday....

John Pinette was funny, but there was nothing funny about what he truly experienced.... he masked it with humor.... very sad.

My belief is that everyone eventually comes to their personal point of realization they must change! Whether they reach it in time is the question. Your leading by example is going to save lives Barbara. That mantra of "being mindful every day" should be your Warrior cry. Congratulations always!

He was trying to turn things around but it was too little too late for him.
