The New Chapter Bookstore is now open in downtown Lewisburg, West Virginia. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held on Friday, June 22, at 4 p.m. All are invited to enjoy wine and snacks while checking out the redesigned store's selection of books, cards and gifts. There also will be two drawings for $50 gift certificates.

David Craddock is the owner of The New Chapter Bookstore. He retired in January 2017 and his background is in Law and has worked in Atlanta and Alabama. David and his wife lived in the Tennessee Tri-Cities and found Snowshoe WV, and purchased a condo there. On their way to Snowshoe, they would often stop in Lewisburg. They decided to purchase a historic home in Lewisburg and started renovations. Once renovations were completed, David thought he couldn't stay retired. While strolling through downtown, they found a building and his wife said this would be a great bookstore. They are leasing the building for now.

David says, "the New Chapter Bookstore is a true independent brookstore and he personally owns every book. He does not sale used books. You don't open a book store to make money, I do it for the community. There is nothing like holding a book in your hand. There was a need for a bookstore in Lewisburg as children and adults need books." This bookstore is a great addition for downtown Lewisburg.
David has a plan for Christmas. He wants to create a book tree. Most children wish for toys at Christmas. Besides toys, children could wish for their favorite book. Their list will be added to the Christmas book tree. Parents could purchase the books at cost during this event.
