EV Charging Stations in Beverly Hills and Vicinity...

I found an EV Charging Station in Westchester, CA 90045...

OK for the uninitiated EV is for Electric Vehicles, that much I knew as well, but thought I share anyway. I have been driving by and walking by this Station a few times in the past couple months. One Day I saw a vehicle charging. Curiosity got the better of me, when no one was looking I went closer to it and took some pictures to commemorate the Charging Station. Not wanting to sound “old school” but I did not see any credit card choices like at a traditional car fueling station.

Silly me, I should have known it must be an APP you need… so with that said when I got in front of my PC I asked Mr. Google, how this works. Well with that said let me share:

“…ChargePoint brings electric vehicle (EV) charging to more people and places than ever before with the world’s largest and most open EV charging network. We design, build and support all of the technology that powers this network, from charging station hardware to energy management software to a mobile app. Our work transforms transportation and energy use by helping more people choose to drive electric…”

“…Our charging stations, mobile app and network make it easy to charge EVs anywhere. Our energy management solutions help people and businesses shift away from fossil fuels and manage growing demand for EV charging. And our work with multiple stakeholders, from automakers to individual businesses, paves the way for widespread EV adoption….”

So, there you have it, I did a bit more research and discovered that there are quite a few Charging Stations near LAX as in Los Angeles International Airport. No I did not join to find out what the costs and times are, either way it was clear that you can check on the app to find out if any are available or someone is using it.  Anyway, you get the idea, I am confident that there are different charging stations for the various models, which could be cumbersome if you have a Chevy VOLT vs a TESLA just to use as an example. Also finding charging stations are not as easy or convenient as a traditional fueling station. Never the less the FUTURE is here.

Now if you are considering buying a home be prepared now you will more than likely must arrange with a certified electrician to create your own charging station. I am confident soon it will be standard equipment of a home at least in the greater Los Angeles area, since I see many TESLA’s, VOLTS and PRIUS on the road.

I'm beginning to notice more and more of these charging stations when I am out and about, Endre.  I suspect it will be a growing trend for the foreseeable future.

Hi Endre,
I have a friend with a Tesla and "planning" her travels around the location of charging stations is an issue.  This would not be acceptable to me.  I could handle driving an EV locally but not cross country.  In my view, it severely restricts flexibility.

Hi Endre.  It's only a matter of time as I'm seeing some gas stations beginning to offer EV charge stations as well.  A couple of examples:

Well, I knew what EV was but, never, ever thought of how you pay for the service...or that different cars may require different charging stations, Endre. Very interesting! Thanks for sharing!

Endre Barath, Jr. - How interesting! Good for you for going up to the EV and investigating; then doing research on the app. You're such a smart man!

Several years ago some people in my area bought electric cars but didn't keep them because they couldn't find charging stations. Perhaps apps weren't available then? Technology is forever changing and now there's an app for just about everything! We live in an app world and it happened in the blink of an eye! As for me, when it comes to apps and electronic cars/charging stations, I'm still living in the dark ages. That has to change and it all starts with exactly how your research began - self-education!

Good for you!!!
