I’m about to begin the extension of my existing journey of physical fitness by enrolling in certification programs to expand my level of knowledge of what I love to do every day at the YMCA in Franklin MA.
My original thought was to jump right in and become certified as a personal trainer. I think rather than diving in before I’m confident that there is still water in this pool, my first step will be to become certified as a strength and fitness coach.
Strength and fitness is my main focus every day, and what better way to initiate a program than to emphasize your passion. My ultimate goal is to encourage, assist and coach those who are on a journey to lose weight and become toned with a program that suits each of them.
If I’m successful with this plan, I’ll continue with additional certification programs to make what I contribute more beneficial to others and to me. What I’m doing will never be of financial gain. I have a job as the marketing agent for The Todaro Team of RE/MAX Executive Realty.
This is nothing more than a positive way to give back by helping those who are having a difficult time becoming fit. Five years ago, on July 3, 2013, I weighed 310 pounds and was heading for the final fall. I dodged another bullet by having weight loss surgery and losing 180 pounds within the first 2 years. I’ve maintained that weight by eating clean and replacing the fat with lean muscle.
I work very hard at this every day. However, I would be remiss if I did not give credit to my professional trainer, Jennifer Miller, whose guidance and inspiration gave me the motivation to beat my previous goals with each session. She encouraged me and opened my eyes to wanting more and sharing it with others. She’s a true professional and inspired me to continue where she left off.
I just registered through the National Council of Strength and Fitness (NCSF) for my certification as a Strength Coach.
My time spent on ActiveRain will be a fraction of previous use. I’ll need to focus and prepare for the final exam. Now, my time will be what be what is reasonable and NOT excessive!!!
