Can you believe we are halfway through 2018?
In some respects, I am glad the first half of this year is coming to a close. Why, you ask? The real estate industry is going through so many changes and, if you want to keep up, you at least should investigate where certain marketing strategies lead you. This includes going it alone or being part of a marketing team, buying leads, promoting yourself through reviews, try print advertising and mailers, upgrading your own website and/or promoting yourself on other platforms.
I've been contacted by endless marketeers and have looked into a bunch of their products. Certain things made sense to me, so my marketing has been ratcheted up considerably. Certain things I just can't do, like put my face on shopping carts or, as Endre Barath, Jr. just wrote a blog about, "wrapping" my beautiful Lexus in advertising.
And how is all this marketing "soul searching" turning out for me?
The best way I can sum it up, is that clients are reaching me through several marketing efforts. For example, a wonderful couple that called me out of the blue had found my biography in which I mention that I am the organizer of the annual Carmel Art Festival. She was so delighted, because she is an artist and we have so much in common.
The best strategy has been to just give anyone who calls me for assistance with their real estate, the best service I can. A lot of the time, they might not be ready to buy that very moment but, now that several months have gone by, they are coming back to me and are now ready to make a decision. I've helped a lot of them find out what they are qualified for if they need a loan by connecting them with my lender. Other times, I've kept my eye out for certain properties that might not have been available when they started their search.
Can't wait to see how the year will end up.
