1 Simple Action Realtors Do NOT Do (I Do) & It Cost Them Big Time

It is still going on in the real estate business world!

And real estate agents it is costing you, thousands of dollars.

How much is it costing you? It could be $10,000 or over a few years, it could be $100,000 in commissions you are losing out on.

In 1978 I began doing this task, because I was told to do so.

12 times in six months in Ohio I did it. Then we moved to Phoenix Arizona when I passed the real estate test, I began and have continued to do it for about 900 times.

And I will do it three times next month.

I was thinking if we wrote this in GREEN it might help real estate agents think of money they are LOSING, and they would make the change now.

Unfortunately, it is like stopping a habit of not eating healthy and being overweight, and not changing a simple habit making a change.

Here is how this happens, a person gets a license, and they begin doing what they see other agents do, also they ask other agents what to do. WRONG!

Other agents say you do not go to closings. And the new agent does not go. BANG!

IT COST YOU. It is ignorant. It is unprofessional, it is embarrassing. It is stupid.

I am a brutally honest kind of guy.

Stupid in the dictionary is: having a great lack of intelligence or common sense.

Yesterday we took the new preacher and his wife of our church to lunch.

In the first five minutes they found out I was a Realtor.

Then they began telling us about their moving from Kentucky two years ago to Texas, and then just now from Texas to Arizona.

And they told us how the Arizona Realtor was so nice, BUT she never came to the closing, and therefore they would NEVER use her again or recommend her.

Ladies and Gentlemen, it takes one and one-half hours out of a day, or week or month, that includes driving time to and from the title company.

I go there, I sit keep my mouth shut, when the client looks at you as if to say is this ok to sign? I smile and nod your head, sometimes three times in 37 minutes.

And YOU DON’T do this, and I pick up your clients for the future transactions and referrals.

It was a very embarrassing moment for me yesterday.

SHAME ON YOU!

I can't imagine not going to a closing - that is the time for hugs and photos and referrals and creating memories - typically agents go to closings here in the mid Atlantic

Good morning Dan. While my continuing follow-up systems needed work, I almost always attended closings! Enjoy your day!

Good morning Dan - I usually start my morning with Active Rain and a cup of coffee - I read the posts I am following and try to something to post  myself - your post popped up - and the rest is history!
