Carol Williams - I understand. When my husband passed away, I had five classics in need of body work or some type repair, 2 snowmobiles, a trailer, and a boat with a cracked block. I sold them all and bought a  one brand new car. A woman has to do what  woman has to do!

At least your cars look to be more whole than mine were!

Political correctness - if ever there needs to be a law, this is one I'd vote for.

Myrl Jeffcoat - My heart went pitty pat for the Saleen too! To be honest, I was thinking of you when I went to this Classic Auto show in Flower Mound and found one that I thought you might like. But I thought to myself, Myrl would probably prefer a convertible. Let me know what you think! Also, THANK YOU for being featured in the Old Fart's Club. Now that's very, very cool!

Dorie Dillard - I raised my kids to read Laura Ingalls Wilder books and they loved watching Little House on the Prairie. I made picnic lunches during summer vacation and took them to the Forst Preserves in Illinois and we played Little House on the Prairie. And guess what? They turned out to be well adjusted kids, educated, and fun to be around. Plus, as kids my daughter learned to be like Laura and her older sister Mary, doing good for others and my son developed skills by watching Michael Landon. He turned out to be a great father and I'm glad he learned so much from watching the T.V. series. 

How dare anyone accuse the author of being a racist! I am sick about it too!  

Jeff Dowler, CRS - I was drawn in by the classic automobiles like a kid stepping inside my first candy store! Oddly enough, I couldn't stop thinking about candy apples, adrenaline rush, and good old fashioned fun! 

Yes, it's disheartening about Laura Ingalls Wilder. American history should not be erased as if it never existed at all. Learning from our past is part of the culture that has made America great, recognize where we failed, how we changed, or when we needed innovation is the past, the starting point for which people move forward. Other countries, i.e., Japan and China are no different.

Ron Barnes - Glad you liked these classics! I didn't see a '66 SS396 but did get a photo of a SS383 - will that do? I love the color what I call bluezy blue! I missed the History Channel but would have enjoyed watching the development of the hot rod. I didn't know fuel injection and other auto inventions were the direct result of WWII aircraft technology. That's awesome! I got my spouse fresh out of Vietnam. He flew Huey, Cobra, and Chinoock, and was a machine gunner too. He could take apart any chopper and/or auto and put it back together. It was fun to watch him race stock cars that he built in the 70's and 1980's. I remember before he passed on how he cursed when diagnostic testing and computers were the new thing for autos and foreign cars were the incoming thing. He said future generations would never be able to problem solve, fix cars, or appreciate body parts and motors the way they ought to learn. I think he was right!

Did you know I flew over Vietnam? A few weeks ago they had a series of shows on Vietnam and showed the top 10 Choppers. You'll never guess how happy I was when I saw the AH-1G Bell  Huey Cobra Patricia Ann C Troop, 7th Squadron, 1st Calvary Regiment flying on the T.V. screen. If memory serves correctly, I think they said my chopper was #3 on the top 10 list of best choppers ever built. That was my husband's chopper and he painted my name on it. I actually have the original photo and a photo from the 1971 Bell Helicopter Calender too. 

John Henry - Do you know Beth Atalay from Clermont, FL she grew up in Turkey too! I grew up in Chicago. My transportation consisted of my legs, roller blades, bicycle, city bus, subway, and El Train. But there was plenty of muscle around and I loved it! I hung out with a group of friends. One guy name Kissy (his last name was Kiss) had a 1967 GTO, gold, convertible. Everyone wanted to be his friend and I was lucky to go on many joy rides. But after I got married, my spouse was a car nut (reference comment above). We had a Chevelle SS and '66 Chevy Nova that he was in the process of rebuilding when he died. We were suckers and lovers of the Classics!

Lauren Williams, CPO and Ron and Alexandra Seigel - It is very unfortunate that we are all dealing ad nauseum with PC. To strip Laura Ingall Wilder of her literary award for racism is absurd and breaks my heart. I became keenly aware back in 1991 when there was controversy over the discovery of America by Christopher Columbus. If that debate would have been nipped in the bud, perhaps it wouldn't have trickled down through the ages and now flooding our country with propaganda, political correctness and the attempts to erase history and/or rewrite it to please or appease others who are stirring up the melting pot and spilling out toxicity to future generations. 

Unfortunately, I expect many new authors to rise to the occasion and re-write America's story out of context; yet will be favorable as an accepted part of the American Culture which again is absolutely absurd, not truthful, and disappointing.
