Tuesday's Trip or Wordless Wednesday
You Decide!!
Tuesday was my birthday and a friend of mine, wanting to do something special for me, took me hiking up near Prettyboy Reservoir. I had never been up there before. I've shown houses near there but never been to the dam and had never hiked along the river.
We took I-695 to I-83 north and exited at Mount Carmel Road and turned left, then right on Prettyboy Dam Road and took it, staying to the left, to the dam, 
parked before the bridge and walked along the bridge to see if the dam was open and one bore was open so there was water coming out. We've had a lot of rain so the water was high.
We drove back the way we came and turned left on a spur of Prettyboy Dam Road and stayed on it until just before the bridge, there is parking on the left. We walked down to just before the bridge and took a path to the right and walked along the river. It was a beautiful day and the water was clear, there was a man down the way fly fishing. We sat on some rocks and just enjoyed the peace for a few hours, then headed back to civilization. Next time we'll pack a picnic lunch, water to drink and walk further and enjoy it longer.
This is a great day trip and well worth the journey, be sure to wear sensible shoes, this isn't the kind of place you wear flip flops to!!
