Emerald Auto Service Center in Vista CA
A Shout-Out!
My Mom had to have her car towed by AAA about a week ago – it was not drive-able due to an oil leak - and was referred to the Emerald Auto Service Center in Vista, a AAA-approved facility, about 4 miles from where she lives.
We met her over there near the end of the day last Friday to get the verdict from the Service Manager, Kevin – there were some significant issues – and to give her a ride home.
The work took about a week, given the complexity of what needed to be repaired, and the car was ready for my Mom to pick up yesterday afternoon as promised.
Kevin, the Service Manager (and Hector, too), was excellent to work with. He must have called me 6 times to give me updates, but to also report a concern about the head gasket and possible work that might also be needed.
Thankfully further testing found that was not the case since it would have been pretty expensive, but he kept me, and my Mom, updated throughout.
Kevin also let me know about an issue getting a part that actually worked out in my Mom’s favor cost-wise, and took on some extra work I asked about (the tail gate would not stay up). He showed me everything that was done (that I could see) and explained everything along the way (and I am NOT an auto expert by far!).
The overall price was below what was quoted, which is always a pleasure, even with the additional work I asked for but it was still a hefty bill. The car was ready as promised, and the ongoing communication was such a pleasure…and it was not always good news. But I would rather know the deal, wouldn’t you?
This was my first experience with Emerald Auto Service Center, and although it was not my car, it was particularly important to me that my Mom, and her vehicle, were taken well care of. Kevin, Hector and Emerald Auto Service Center made sure that happened! They sure get my vote.
