Improving Most Popular Blogs

As many of you already know, there can be lots of blogs that we write that can require changes. If you change your domain and website, you can have many broken links.  I have been working hard to minimize those broken links every time I revisit a blog title. Sometimes I Google a topic to see what I wrote and then I click on it to see if it is still current.  If not I fix it. 

I made a brokerage change back at the beginning of 2017. Blogs and posts from 2016 and back reflect my previous brokerage. I am going back to change that logo and text to indicate my current brokerage.  I do not want to confuse a potential client, so I think it is important to be consistent in older posts to reflect the current brokerage and eliminate the previous reference to a brokerage I am no longer affiliated with.

4-Magic Time - Secrets Behind The Dramatic Listing Image - https://activerain.com/droplet/4Xmp - Added footer text and formatting. 

5-Real Life - People - St Marks Square - Venice Italy - https://activerain.com/droplet/5d56 increased font size changed brokerage - Reformatted post

6-You Could Wake Up To This Every Morning! ~ Sedona Arizona - https://activerain.com/droplet/4WZY  - Changed brokerage - Font size - Reformatted footer

7-It Happened One Autumn Five Years Ago - My Significant Milestone... - https://activerain.com/droplet/4Wqs - Change font size - corrected spelling mistakes - added a picture - increased the heading size and changed color

8-AZ & HI Do Not Honor Daylight Savings - No Time Change! - https://activerain.com/droplet/5d58 - Changed font color - added white space in header areas

9- It RAINS Actively In Sedona - All Year Long! -  https://activerain.com/droplet/4X2R - changed font color and size added a current image - changed the text and fixed some spelling errors. 

10- October Surprise ! Fall Hiking in Oak Creek Cyn - What is this ? https://activerain.com/droplet/5d5f  - change broker - font size - reformat

I've seen a lot of people revisiting their previous blogs, making improvements adding photos and the like.  I'm sure, you won't want to do it again, for at least a few months

For my website, it took 2 weeks at 8 hours a day. Fortunately, my husband did it!  We still find one that needs a change here and there.

Good morning, Sheri... what a great idea to google a topic to look for outdated posts. That hadn't occured to me. I changed my website this spring, but my primary links were redirected, so that helped a lot. But I still have to check out all the posts for other links.

HI Nina Hollander - I have updated my website 4 times to stay up with the current tech. Fortunately my support group can also do redirects. I won't change my domain name again. But we do have to see if outdated links exist.  Also, videos that are linked to other resources. If they pull it, you have an empty space!

Way to go Brian England - We waste our time if we clean up a post that will never get any more visitors. I actually just deleted some images that I could not duplicate because they had the wrong logo and text over it.

Sheri, I took a similar approach - to start updating the most visted posts, after I sorted them from the statistics. I had not thought of googling the topics from blogs, but will do that, too.
