. It has been a long....but oh soooo worthwhile process. In January, I began the process of getting dental implants. The highly recommended and in much in demand Periodontist (Dental implant specialist) Dr.Ahmed Eslami was my surgeon of choice to do this restoration process. It is a process...just completed...however, the adage: Anything worth doing is worth doing well certainly applies to this procedure to give you a lifetime of restored SMILES ! I am a believer in seeing specialists...My Grandfather used to say that there will come a time when there is a right eye specialist and a left eye specialist...we may be close to that now ! If you are considering or curious about the implant procedure, go to Dr. Eslami's website: www.teamperio.com you will find videos and lots of great information about the process. I have a "regular" dentist, a Periodontist (implant specialist) and an endodontist (root canal expert) and would not have it any other way. The extraction and titanium implants are done under sedation...ask David what a bad drunk looks/behaves like..don't plan on doing anything else that day !
I had relatively little pain...more sore than pain...easily treated with my "drug tail" of choice...a tylenol and an advil...magic relief ! In a week, there is a check up to check on the healing process...there was no "mump swelling' like some people...me included had with the removal of wisdom teeth. I also got "flippers" which are plastic kinds of temporary "fill in" denture like appliances to disquise my "jill o lantern" smile until the restoration is completed
Dr. Michael Flynn...my "regular dentist" in the same building as Dr. Eslami...completes the procedure attaching the posts that will hold the crowns to the titanium implants secured in my jaw. Posts and implants sounds as though you would feel like there was a picket fence in your mouth....you don't...you are barely aware of anything but a gummy smile without my "flipper appliance."
Both Drs. Eslami and Flynn have learned the value of having a staff with "culture" and the atmosphere of personal care and genuine concern is prevalent throughout both of their practices. There are no "Dental Prima Dons or Donnas" you are treated with the respect and care you deserve which I appreciate very much.
Healing, healing, healing and then the impressions are taken for the "Crowning glory" that will be cemented to the posts and carefully fit for size, shape and color when the dental elves have finished their artistry of making the new teeth.
Here I am with a "toothier than usual" smile to show you how wonderful my just "Say Cheese" has become !
If you are not lucky enough to have wonderful dental professionals in your area...you are welcome to make a reservation at Che' Hanson for a week...private room, pretty food service if I do say so myself...and the end result is a smile you will love for a lifetime...it just doesn't get better than that !
Every best wish for healthy, happy smiles ...Sally & David Hanson...Broker Associates grinning and serving southeastern Wisconsin in all things real estate !
