ImageChef.com - Custom comment codes for MySpace, Hi5, Friendster and more Monday - May 26, 2008 is the day set aside by the leadership of our country as a day to remember and honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice in order that we may continue to enjoy the blessings of this country - life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

If you are a Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, Green Party, heterosexual, homosexual, man, woman or whatever - we owe a debt of gratitude to those who gave their lives in service to our country to guarantee our freedoms.

I also want to thank each member of our armed services who stand on the line each day to protect our precious freedom. I appreciate and value the job you do. You are heroes who go unnoticed much of the time. You are overworked and underpaid yet you do an exemplary job. I salute you.

So before you enjoy that juicy steak or burger you just grilled, take a moment and say a prayer. Thank the Lord for the men and women who gave all they had and pray for the protection of our service men and women who stand in harms way today and every day. They deserve this and so much more.

Judy - what a wonderful post. I think Memorial Day has been a forgotten holiday for most except for the Monday off work. We will forever owe our men and women of the armed forces our deepest thanks and gratitude for their sacrifices for our freedom. I, along with you, thank them! Have a great day with your family!

Judy, it is a wonderful post.  Freedom is not free.  I talk to my son on instant messenger several times a week which is really nice.  Yesterday he was excited because he only had to work 13 hours; that puts everything in perspective doesn't it?

I think Memorial Day is also a wonderful day to remember the man that sacrificed his life so that ALL could be free - Jesus Christ. The freedom we enjoy through salvation reminds me of the freedom we enjoy through the sacrifice of those that went before us. This nation stands on the shoulders of those who supported us. As Christians we are told that the world will hate us, that we will be in constant opposition to the world. If you look at the bigger picture then, it is no wonder the rest of the world hates a country that was founded on the Word of God. We are so blessed to live in the United States of America. One Nation, Under God.

Hi Judy - I wish everyone would take a moment today to think about those who've given, and are giving, and who will be giving, for all of us and the great country we're so privileged to live in and call home.  There are so many awful things going on around the world, and yet we live in this great country with all we have and enjoy - thanks to all the men and women of the military.

I grew up in an Air Force family, my grandfather was in the Army - all military of every branch will always have a special place in my heart and in my prayers.

Happy Memorial Day to you and Mike, and enjoy the afternoon with Jay and Monika!

Thank you, Judy, Memorial Day is especially important to us this year.

Happy Memorial Day to you and yours.  Let me say in tribute to my father-in-law who passed away earlier this month: God bless America and all the gallant men and women that served with him in WWII.  He fought the war from the air and ground as a paratrooper in the 101 Airborne!
