mushroom capSo you are always looking for gifts and souvenirs that are unique remembrances of that cool little town you came upon in Pennsylvania. Well, if that little Borough is Kennett Square, have we got a deal for you!  It's called The Mushroom Cap.

They have fresh White, Crimini, Shitake, Oyster, Maitake, Portabella, Royal Trumpet, Pom Poms, productsBeech Morels and Chanterelles (when in season).  They have marinated, pickled, dried, Snack  Shrooms, chips, powder, pasta and chop sauces, mustard, dips, chowder mix, and soup mix.

socksIf you would rather wear your mushrooms, there are socks, t-shirts, baby clothes, plus  dish towels, kitchen implements, books, post cards, and ornaments featuring the shiny mushroom which drops at midnight on New Year's Eve.  Many of these items are also available on their web site.

And if you want a quick education about noveltieshow mushrooms are grown, look at the exhibits which came from the old Mushroom Museum and line the back room of the store. Oh, and didn't I say, KENNETT SQUARE IS THE MUSHROOM CAPITAL OF THE WORLD!

And I am proud to say that I can properly care for fresh mushrooms with a cloth mushroom storage bag and a mushroom brush (you are mushroom bagnot supposed to wash them in water because they will soak it up and boil the mushrooms when you try to saute them).

The Mushroom Cap is locataed at 114 W. Stateornament Street in downtown Kennett Square, Pennsylvania (just down the road from Longwood Gardens).

When I first read the title I was sure you were going to tell a horror story about water in a basement and mushrooms everywhere. I was pleasantly surprised to read something else entirerly.
