3 Key Suggestions to Make Open Houses More Profitable and Fun

The past two Saturdays, I decided to visit open houses and see how real estate agents work.

1   It was quite disappointing, unfortunately, they are lacking in being personable, focused, making eye contact, and if we are talking; it is time to ignore everyone one else who walks in the door.

Remember the saying: first come first serve?

Not I may not be a potential client, but you are the one who started the conversation with me, so stick with me until you see nothing there for you and find a gentle way to get away from me politely.

2   Never chose a home to hold open unless it is less than two blocks from a busy street. The people coming to the open house, will loose interest, loose their way. And for sure never hold a home in a gated community open.

3   When you get a good lead, stay with them, never break eye contact, even if eight other people come in, stay with them, to the point of making an appointment!

Leaving them and offering to call them later is extremely dangerous.

Remember you are not looking for four leads at a open house, only one great lead, will more than pay for your two hours of holding the open house.

Don’t be greedy. You can get another great lead today, tomorrow, or at your next open house.

Good point, one ONE lead. True, only one would be great and brings income.
