I totally agree, Barbara Todaro! Those floors are truly gorgeous and the job the guy did weaving them was perfection. I know it wasn't an easy job either!

I was expecting something about 80% of what we got, Roy Kelley - they were just SO old and in such horrible shape. The transformation was spectacular, for sure!

I certainly will, Amanda S. Davidson! I'm as excited about the renovation as they are and it's not even my house! LOL

Oh, lucky you that he's sharing those with you, Myrl Jeffcoat! This is such an exciting process for them...and for us!

Hi Kathy Streib! And, it's been a great lesson for them - you don't HAVE to buy new construction or a home that has already been remodeled. You can buy something wonderfully old with great bones and turn it into exactly what you want! 

I will say, Matt has learned a LOT of patience during this process! I think that, despite our telling him he'd have this done by the end of August, he expected it to be done YESTERDAY! LOL  He now sees that when done right, it's worth a little bit of 'wait' time!

I completely agree, Patricia Feager! They're spectacular and they definitely turned out better than we expected. Thankfully the flooring guy is a perfectionist and it really does show, doesn't it?!

You know, I have the same passion for old homes, Gene Mundt, IL/WI Mortgage Originator - FHA/VA/Conv/Jumbo/Portfolio/Refi! (I guess it runs in the family!)

I had a blast building our home too but, this is just so exciting seeing old bones coming to life. It means so much that they didn't tear it down and re-build like so many buyers are doing these days. This is so much more rewarding, isn't it?!

I agree Sharon Lee! It's a lot of elbow grease and a lot of or friends and family are chipping in to help and it has been so much fun!  

I can't wait to hear what the painter told them tonight about staining the concrete floors in the mud room and the laundry room area. The cabinets will be painted too and that should be exciting, George Souto! At least after that is done, they can move into their kitchen! I'm sure it'll look amazing when they're through.

I love doing this type of thing too, JL Boney, III - it's just SO rewarding and it's also helpful when we show buyers potential in a home that they think there's no hope for too.

So no update today - the painter won't be there until next weekend but, hopefully the island will be installed or they'll decide to purchase a rectangle high-topper for the space where they were thinking about the peninsula. They're loving these floors though!
