The Manta Ray is Tel Aviv is right in the Mediterranean Sea, and I had the pleasure of meeting my old investor in Israel and his two partners for a sunset dinner as we watch the sun go down. The restaurant is just a short walk from the hotel and this was out second annual meal there as they like to know about properties first. We of course agreed to meet again there next year. The menu is great and I had the hard decision to either go with the tuna or the blue bream but being a tuna fanatic I couldn't resist and it did not disappoint. FYI, Israeli wines are outstanding and a growing industry. I really wasn't that hungry because I had eaten lunch at Puaa in the Jaffa flea market, a place I discovered last year. In honor if Roy Kelly's love of beer I again had a Palestinian beer called Taybeh Golden Lager that is brewed according to Old German standards and Roy, if it comes your way you won't be disappointed.
The conversation turned to real estate but of course you can't help to discuss some politics but we kept that to a minimum. Mostly it was about value systems and friendship so you can't go wrong on those topics. After dinner the talk turned to what they should buy and we agreed on my recommendations. It is a wonderful feeling being trusted by investors over 6700 miles away, but we have delivered on our promises with them for fourteen years. Then the most important topic camp, what's for dessert? On this we couldn't completely agree so like any intelligent folk we ordered three different ones. The creme brulee was unique and great, their homemade ice cream which was a bit mocha and done the french way with a taste of flower in it was also excellent. But the topper was their take on chocolate mousse and this was done as you can see over the top and featured three different flavors. As I said you can't go wrong eating about anywhere in Israel but you add in the sunset over the sea with people you truly like and even they were taking pictures of the sunset, and you have business not as usual, but business that is an absolute pleasure.
