Gyorgy Schwartz was born in Budapest back in 1930 to Tivadar and Erzebet. There is so much to write about him that I will only hit some of the highlights. If you want to know more you’ll need to look him up. Anyway, the family changed their name in 1936 to avoid the wrath from when Nazi Germany occupied Hungary.
The family emigrated to England in 1947. He attended the London School of Economics graduating with a master’s in philosophy. He worked as a railway porter and a waiter while attending college. After graduating he was a traveling salesman for a wholesaler to the Welsh seaside resorts.
He finally landed a job as a clerk at a bank later moving on to the arbitrage department. He moved several times before founding a fund management of his own and as they say the rest is history.
What you may not know about Gyorgy Schwartz is the name change his family made was to Soros. That’s right Gyorgy Schwartz is now George Soros, he is known as the man who broke the Bank of England. Not bad coming from a Jewish family, surviving the holocaust during WWII. Until tomorrow my wish is for you to smile a lot and have a laugh or two thrown in for good measure
