I know I usually focus my attention on coffee shops in the DC Metropolitan area, but this little place made me change my mind. There were so many remarkable things about this coffee shop that I simply had to take some pictures and write it up.
Loud Music, No Decaf
One of the other basketball moms heard about my two-minute rule and recommended I try a little diner called Wild Eggs. When we arrived, there was a pretty long waiting list. Even though they offered free coffee while you wait, we had passed a shop with the words, "loud music, no decaf" and it looked worth investigating. My daughters and I walked about a block to check it out and kill some time while my husband stayed behind and waited.
Please & Thank You?
Walking up to the shop called Please & Thank You, we noticed a sign saying the Kentucky's Best Chocolate Chip Cookie and we were unsure if it was a bakery or coffee shop. When you enter the shop, it has a clean, modern and simple design with a touch of retro. We noticed their wall of merchandise right away. So many cute items all clean and sporting some play on their name or P&TY.
I looked around the space and then checked out the menu. I usually get plain coffee, partly because it's cheaper and I hate paying for so much milk when you can add milk later if needed and partly because I typically like to see how plain coffee is delivered. However, when I saw Ganache Latte on the menu, the friendly woman behind the counter said they make the chocolate themselves and roast the...I really didn't need convincing.
My daughters took a bunch of artistic photos and selfies for Instagram and Snapchat while we waited for our drinks. This is the picture I took and they probably hate it.
The Ganache Latte was AMAZING! Think Mocha only better. No sugar needed, not even by my sugar-loving daughter. And at the bottom were delicious marshmallows.
And that name!
And of course the the name. Please & Thank You. Adorable. So polite and cheerful. And they name each of their locations. The one we visited is FLOYD. Go to FLOYD.
