Speechless Sunday Take Away Lessons from the World Cup

By
Industry Observer

As many of you know I am a Sports fanatic, I love sports, Soccer is probably my favorite for a million different reasons. The World Cup 2018  is over and France LeBleu has won. It is their first win in 20 years though they got to the quarter finals in 2014, but were took over confidenant and so they lost to Gernany. Take away Lesson 1: Never Be Overconfident you must be prepared and not rest on your laurels. The French Team remembered that lesson this tournament.

I was lucky and was able to watch a fair amount of the tournaments, I had watch the 2nd place team Croatia play a few games. They come from a tiny little country, but the played with determination and grit and never ever gave up.  Take Away Lesson 2: The outcome in not always determined by talent alone but by heart, determination, hard work and never ever giving up.

The French were the 2nd youngest team in the tournament so people did not really expect them to go far, but they were full of young talented players. Take Away Lesson 3: Inexperience can lead to thinking outside the box for new innotative cutting edge results.

France, Russia and Croatia all went really far into the tournament, Russia was one of the lowest rank teams in the tournament ( the host nation automatically gets a berth in the tournament). The one thing that I noticed about these 3 teams they played as a team and went further than they were expected to go at the beginning of the tournament. Take Away Lesson 4: If you work as a team for the benefit of a common goal, you will be more successful than being an island of one.

That is for the 2018 World Cup; on a side note the World Cup Tournament is the most watched tournament is Sports. That is it until 2022!

Happy Sunday!

We watched some of it during dim sum last week. Could not figure out why all of these Asian people were rooting for Russia.

Yolanda although I did not watch any of the games, I loved your take aways and #2 is so true. Diane and I watched the NBA finals and it was clear that the second best team did not play with their full energy as if they did not have their heart in it, just going through the motions...Endre

It's crazy how out-of-control some soccer fans can get! I really don't follow the game, but I am always amazed at how wild the fans are.
