MultiGen Living With Nature as Neighbors

Multigenerational living, "multigen" for short, is on the rise in the U.S. It has long been a tradition in other countries, but in 2014 the Pew Research Center reported that a record 60.6 million Americans, or 20%, now live in multigen households. This trend continues today as the housing market responds to the demand for multigen homes.

Finding a Multigen Home Requires Expertise

It's no coincidence that our specialty - view homes with "elbow room for the soul" - is well-suited for multigen homes, too.  Sometimes they come with separate living quarters, sometimes they need to be modified. We understand and live the lifestyle, so we know how to find homes suited for this lifestyle.

ViewHomes™ grew out of our passion for nature, beautiful surroundings, and peaceful environments. Starting together in an urban environment, over the years we've gravitated towards areas with smaller populations and less density. We now enjoy our lifestyle in a rural environment, but with close proximity to metropolitan areas where we appreciate all the amenities of fine restaurants, shopping, and an easy drive to an international airport.
Living in ViewHomes™ is like having “elbowroom for the soul”.

I just sold a multi-gen home in Del Dayo Carmichael and those buyers are modifying the in-law quarters because it's just not big enough. The house is already 5,000 square feet.

Are you finding people want larger spaces, Debb?

I have another coming up in Fair Oaks that is 3,800 square feet but a single story with master suites at opposite ends. You can bet I'm working the multi-gen angle with that listing. It's what people want.

Debb and Bernie, your niche is growing and you're leading the way. I am seeing more and more families opt to live the multi-gen lifestyle and I just love it. The home in your photo is breathtaking.

Hi Debb... the multi-generational homes in my area are still very much the exception rather than the rule. Lots of talk about them for years, but I'm not seeing any dent in the availability. I dread getting a call from a client wanting one of those because they are such a rarity.

Debb, we hardly have any  multi-generational homes, but let's be honest if you have a 5000+ sq ft home I am sure it could be easily converted, Endre
