Successful People do More Listening

It's interesting that we are taught to speak and to prepare for giving a speech. Some join the debate club. And yet, shouldn't we have seminars or classes on how to listen??

Successful People do More Listening

“Most of the successful people I’ve know do more listening

than talking.”

Bernard M. Baruch  1870 – 1965, American Financier,

Stock Investor, Philanthropist, Statesman,

Political  Consultant

As I see it . . . . . . .

Successful people do more listening

The talker misses the real conversation that’s taking place . . . . They become far more likely to talk themselves out of the business.

Business communication plays an essential role in the exchange of information. It becomes a key element in really understanding the person that you’re communicating with.

As you communicate with that person . . . . you will build rapport with the person. That rapport will build a bridge to mutual understanding and trust in the relationship.

Also by listening to a person you’re showing respect for the person that’s speaking . . . .and that your interested in what they are saying.

In that process they will share their real motivation . . . . Their fears . . . . and give you all the information that you will need to help them.

The talker is so busy talking . . . . they have no clue, on what the other person is really saying or why they’re saying it.

Successful people do more listening . . . . and they will listening their way to a successful career of building successful and lasting business relationships.

Put 40 years of experience to work for you

There are times I am listening to people, and I'm not listening to what they say at all because what they are saying is of no interest to anybody. I have crazy clients who call and talk to me while I'm driving, about stuff that is not real estate related. They ramble on and on. Sometimes, just for fun, I will read the title on a billboard I pass, and they don't even notice what I said because they are too busy thinking about their next sentence.

Try it sometime. It's great fun.

You learn a lot more when others talk than when you flap your jaws.

The old cliche of two ears and one mouth certainly applies to this definition of being successful.
