AN AFFORDABLE KITCHEN RENOVATION
Everyone wants an amazing gourmet kitchen; that's why updating a kitchen can increase a home's value in a big way! But let's face it: kitchen renovation projects can be intimidating! They are usually extremely expensive, and can take forever.
The world of home renovation is full of really amazing $20,000 - $50,000+ kitchen renovations. While these expensive projects are beautiful and certainly have their place… we wanted to show what was possible on a smaller budget. WAY SMALLER! The final price tag on this project came in at ONLY $6,377.97! To see the full budget breakdown, along with even more pictures, see the full article: An Affordable Kitchen Renovation
BEFORE THE RENOVATION
Before all the updates, this started out as a pretty basic kitchen in a 2005 builder grade tract home. Nearly everything in the kitchen needed to be upgraded to achieve the 'fully remodeled' look and feel that we were after. To keep the budget low, we had to find savings wherever possible. This meant a little extra DIY elbow grease, as well as keeping an eye out for sales.
It all paid off in the end when we actually came in UNDER BUDGET! When does that ever happen?

AFTER THE RENOVATION
If you didn't think it was possible to make a big impact on the look of a kitchen without a huge budget, then you might be in for a big surpise. Check out the 'after' pictures!
This project was a lot of work, since we did absolutely everything ourselves - with the exception of the countertop installation. The subway tile backsplash was probably the biggest undertaking, but luckily it turned out great! Past that, pretty much everything else was just a matter of rolling up the shirt sleeves and getting things done. It was a lot of little projects that came together in a BIG way!
