Wordless Wednesdays: Bone Broth has become my latest cooking experimentation. My first attempt was a healthy cream of asparagus soup... it was a total hit.... last night I experimented and made a healthy Potato Leek Soup another winner. Let me know if you want the recipe.

Many Indian dishes use bone broth to flavor their food but usually cook the bones down to the marrow to make their own broth such as in chicken curry.

Oh, BOTH recipes sound divine, Endre - please do share!

As for the bone broth - before real estate, I made my own. Since time is limited, I buy it by the container now as well. I've grown accustomed to this version now too - I now prefer it over the 'jelly' that used to come out of my freezer!

Happy Friday!

Hello Endre,

you are quite the cook with all these experimental posts on cooking! My stepmother was a gourmet cook and taught me all her secrets on cooking, but I really don't do much of it. And my wife is a great cook with recipe's from Myanmar/Burma, Philippines, China, some American dishes and she makes great (fresh) sushi ;o)

I understand Endre and some of us have it and some of us don't ;o)

If I could just cook and leave all the dishes, etc for someone else to take care of I would cook great dishes day in & day out. I love the taste of great food but (do not) want to waste my time cleaning up after.

Don't get me wrong I am not a messy person in fact wherever I go in the house, away from the house you would never know I was there. No trace of anything and I do get a little carried away with cleanliness ...

PS: I use to sharpen knives for chef's, there is a special trick to it and the knives are razor sharp when I'm finished with them and I can do it in minutes.

Endre, interesting endeavor using bone broth in your cooking.  I've heard bone broth has quite a few health benefits. I'm curious as to what prompted you to use bone broth?

Matthew Klinowski, PA  I have always cooked with Chicken Stock and or Chicken Cubes.... they were a bit salty to hide the bland flavors.... and one of Diane's Coworkers tried bone broth for health reasons, so Diane suggested we should try it and clearly it is a winner in my book. Intense flavor and not salty...Endre

Hi Endre, thanks! My wife and I use chicken stock all the time and we try to minimize salt so I'll definitely have to try this.  Thanks for the additional information.
