Now That We're Trained And Educated, Can We Go Make Some Money??
Barbara Todaro is always a great mentor and always has important information for all of us here in the rain.
This is my second requirement for all licensed real estate agents who will be joining the National Association of Realtors. Education is the key to success, and the NAR offers a wide variety of educational courses that result in designations.
Knowledge is power, and the NAR will now include as a requirement that every agent secure one designation within a 3-year period. The agent can select whatever designation is of interest or satisfies the agent’s niche.
Each agent must have a minimum of 2 designations with the first 6 years of membership. With every designation, the annual membership dues of $300.00 will be decreased by 10% each year, up to a maximum of 4 designations for a 40% decrease.
The annual dues to maintain the designations will be $50/designation/year. The designations can be displayed by the member, and agent’s profile will be included in the online directory.
Additional designations will be available for no charge to members who have 4 designations. There is no limit to the number of designations an agent is able to secure. When an agent has accumulated 10 designations, the membership fee for NAR will be waived.
The changes to the education requirements will reduce the current costs paid by the agents and educate every member. Nothing trumps knowledge, especially when it’s free. We just raised that bar again; attained many designation and eliminated the annual fee for NAR; didn’t we?
How do you like it now????
