It was yesterday morning my daughter, Jill, called and quizzed, “Mom, I think we should take in a summer concert tonight?” I enthusiastically responded, “Okay!” The Greater Sacramento Region has numerous concert events throughout summer. If not in a local park, these concerts can be found at local wineries, or breweries.
We found ourselves at at a delightful venue at Cielo Estate Winery in nearby Shingle Springs. Shingle Springs is a little Gold Rush era town, cradled at the base of the Sierra Nevada foothills, just 35 miles east of Sacramento.
As evening progressed, the glow of sunset visited the vines, and temps backed off of their hot summer day mark, making our special spot on the lawn under Oak and Willow trees delightfully comfortable! “Island of Black and White” is a special little band, which provided outstanding entertainment!
My daughter seemed to enjoy Cielo’s Peach Champaign. I wasn’t in a wine mood last night, and enjoyed a simple Blue Moon brew instead.
Cielo Estate Winery is located at: 3040 Ponderosa Road, Shingle Springs, California 95682. You can click on their link to view Cielo’s Summer Concert Schedule.
