Amelia Island is located in the northeast corner of FL just off the coast of Jacksonville and just south of the FL/GA kine. With 13 miles of white sandy beaches along the shores of the Atlantic Ocean, it is one of the most popular vacation destinations in the country . . . but there is more to our beautiful island than just the beaches:
Amelia Island is host to the annual Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival (more than 150,000 people visiting each May), the Amelia Island Jazz Festival, the Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival, the Amelia Island FilmFestival, the automotive charitable event Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance and the Amelia Island Blues Festival & many more activites throughout the year.
There are currently six golf courses on Amelia Island. The Omni Resort at Amelia Island is a resort that features the Oakmarsh Course and formerly the Ocean Links Course until it was closed at the end of 2017. The Long Point Course, the private course that is part of The Amelia Island Club. The Golf Club of Amelia Island is at the Summer Beach Resort surrounded by The Ritz-Carlton, and the Royal Amelia Golflinks which later was named the Amelia River Golf Club is located nearby. as well as the Fernandina Beach Golf Club, known to locals as the "City Course".
Fernandina Beach Municipal Airport, a general aviation airport and former military airbase that is also now used at times by the U.S. Navy, the U.S. Coast Guard and the Florida Air National Guard, is located on the island.
