"When we own the story, we can write a brave new ending."
Here is another novel By Catherine Ryan Hyde that I really enjoyed. The thing I like about her novels is she doesn't just write a story. She makes us think about our own story and how we might be able to rewrite the rest of the story and how it ends for us. I recently discovered that she is not only a best-selling author but also the Founder and former President of the Pay-It-Forward Foundation.
This book makes the reader realize that we often make choices in life based on what we think we want. Unfortunately, our choices don't always take us to a place of fulfillment. It's never too late to make changes and correct our path.
In this book, the story centers on Roseanna Chaldecott who spent her adult life as a high-powered lawyer in Manhattan. "But when her best friend and law partner dies suddenly something snaps. Unsure of her future, Roseanna heads upstate on one tank of gas and with no plans to return."
It's a thought-provoking read and you will most likely find yourself evaluating your priorities on many levels. Although there was a bit more detail than I like in a book, I highly recommend it for the meaningful content.
