Recently Daniel celebrated his 16th birthday.
He is a good kid, good student. He is a member of the school swimming team, plays in the local Playhouse, plays piano, loves to cook, takes care of his little brother, two dogs, a snake and two mice. Helps his busy parents... Normal kid. As he likes to say, he is doing everything near perfect.
Below I recorded him playing at his birthday party. Very raw, he was extremely busy with his school and the theater, and he did not practice at all for a few weeks.
This Memorial Day weekend turned windy and the Ocean was rough. A lot of rip currents were a problem. He went to the beach with his friends, said he saw the lifeguards pulling people out of the rip currents 6 times. He is a good swimmer, and knows what to do if you get caught. He noticed a kid in the water, who was overwhelmed by the current and started drowning. Daniel rushed to him and got him safely out of the water. He called his mom and told her about it.
This time I agree that he was perfect. And I am OK with him being "near perfect" the rest of the time. I love him and I am proud of him. This is my a bit delayed "Happy birthday" to Daniel.
