Good morning, Nina Hollander I can remember when my children were in school and the supplies were limited... I would supply the classroom with pencils, rulers and other supplies.... I will admit, I special ordered hundreds of them with my name, number and re/max executive on them!!!! it worked out well for EVERYONE....

Gita Bantwal hi Gita... this is typically a very successful drive and this year should be even more so now that my company has decided to help support it throughout its offices making it easier for people to contribute for more days in more places.
Barbara Todaro hi Barbara... I've lived here for 20 years now and am still totally shocked that 50% of our area students live in such poverty that their families cannot afford school supplies. Thank God for Classroom Central and the work it does in our community.

your taxes are too low....
Good morning Nina. Hard to ponder 50% poverty in such a vibrant market, but a great start to eliminating the problem! Enjoy your day!

Good morning Nina Hollander,
Wow 50% live in poverty in such a thriving part of the county. I can see why Classroom Central is so important and good to hear all that you are doing for these kiddos.

Wayne Martin hi Wayne... Charlotte is a very affluent city in many ways... so it is hard to fathom that one in two children lives at poverty level.
Dorie Dillard hi Dorie... it is an amazing statistic for such an affluent city. Fortunately, we are also very much a "giving" city.
This is great information to share with area residents.
Have an outstanding day.

Nina, what a great event, and sad to hear so many are living in poverty, and sure hope the donations are plentiful.

Roy Kelley hi Roy... this is one of my "pet" causes that I promote each year.
Joan Cox hi Joan... it is a very sad state of affairs; fortunately, Charlotteans are very generous and my office's partnering this year with this drive will provide even more opportunities to donate.
Nina, wow 50% is a very eye-opening stat. I hope that donations flow in like crazy! Kudos to your office for partnering with Classroom Central.

I hope that this will be a complete success and the kids will have all of the supplies that they need for a productive school year!

Amanda S. Davidson hi Amanda, our office tries hard to support causes that help under-privileged children in the Charlotte area. And our agents are always so generous.
Brian England hi Brian... I just got back from Walmart where I filled up a huge bad with all sorts of supplies for about $10... they are selling notebooks for 25 cents each, pencil and crayon boxes for 25 cents each, etc. I'll be going back to buy more over the weekend.

Ron and Alexandra Seigel hi Alexandra... I was gob-smacked the first time I heard this statistic some years ago, especially for a city that is as affluent as Charlotte. I've always donated to Classroom Central, but am so happy that my brokerage is now making it easier for more people to donate at our various offices around the Charlotte metro area, as not everyone can get to the Ballantyne Corporate Park easily.

Nina I was surprise to see that:
"More than 50% of the Charlotte region's students live in poverty."
Hopefully this is a successful event.

Good morning Nina - we would help our students with supplies at the PTA but these children really need our help. I hope everyone gives.

George Souto hi George... I know that number, but I'm still taken aback every time I see it. Classroom Central is simply an amazing organization.
Grant Schneider hi Grant... the need is so great it's almost incomprehensible. We do a good job of promoting it here in the Ballantyne area, but I don't know how well it's done in other parts of the metro area.
I hope local residents will read this post and donate generously
