One of the biggest ways that I am able to save money when decorating, is by reusing and repurposing the decor items that I already have.
Another great way to save a little extra money when decorating is to use faux. The benefits are twofold in that you often save money up front, AND you eliminate the risk of the natural blooms dying and needing to be repurchased before the season is over. Additionally, they can be reused year after year. Utilize faux wherever it makes sense, but don’t be afraid to mix and match faux with natural. Faux blooms, along with natural pumpkins and pinecones complement each other very well. Speaking of pinecones: go find some! Pinecones are a great fall decoration, and obviously free as long as you find find them. If you don’t have immediate access to lots of pinecones, then see if you can make a fun little day trip to an evergreen forest.
Shop your local thrift markets and second hand stores. Over the years, I have found a ton of good stuff at thrift stores, and it's almost always so cheap! Keep your eyes peeled for baskets and candles. Those are the two items I’ve had the most luck with in second hand stores. The chair in this picture is actually from a second hand store as well!
