The residents of Satellite Beach have been anxiously awaiting the opening of the new restaurant at the corner of A1a and Cassia Blvd. After Irma stormed through our town 10 months ago, A NY Pizza permanently closed down. I for one was bummed to lose a local eatery, BUT, The Shuck Shack quietly opened on July 24th and I for one am quite pleased. The soft opening was nothing short of amazing. Tuesday saw the local Satellite Beach residents in droves welcoming The Shuck Shack with open arms!
I went in last night for dinner and was very pleased with what I experienced! I ordered a dozen oysters on the half shell. Sometimes oysters can be shucked badly leaving shards of shell for the diner to have to deal with. That was not the case at The Shuck Shack. My oysters arrived on ice with lemons wedges, horseradish, cocktail sauce and crackers. They were fresh and expertly shucked. Trust me, I enjoyed each and every one of those babies!
There is a patio area on the north side of the restaurant and a sand pit on the east side of the building that will be pet friendly when it is not raining (which it was last night). There is also a giant jenja game on order which should be a hoot when it arrives.
The menu at The Shuck Shack should be varied enough to appeal to pretty much everyone. Along with the raw bar portion of the menu, there are wings, chicken tenders and burgers. I was assured by the owner last night that he will be adding a black and blue burger (with bacon) to the menu.
The drink menu was cute. The entire drink menu is a lamenated surfboard shaped gizmo that has great options such as mojitios, hurricanes and pretty decent wine list and my personal favorite, the gorgeous bloody mary garnished with a big, plump shrimp on top.
The Shuck Shack is open daily at 4:00pm (for now). Here are the particulars.
