“Are You Kidding Me Joe?”
Are you kidding me Joe?
That was my immediate response after you and I spoke. We had all but given up on the idea of owning a new home. I wish I could understand why no one else came up with the idea of refinancing our three family property and paying off our student loans?
OK, now that we have completed the refinance we want to move forward and buy a single family home. How much can we qualify for? Can’t believe I am using the lingo you taught us.
One more thing, “Don’t ever stop blogging”.
Brad
There is no simple answer as to why someone else couldn’t figure it out. It just seemed like a NO Brainer. They told me that they interacted with a bunch of different loan officers over the last few years to accomplish the goal of buying a single-family home that fit their needs, but no one could get them qualified. Their student loans were costing them $1450 per month.
These folks were fortunate to have purchased a multifamily a few years ago and had a bunch of equity. As they said it paid to be handy as the property needed work when they purchased.
They are now in the process of looking for a home that will have a mortgage payment close to what their student loan payments were.
