...those were the words of Stacy Goodman who works as a consultant for Deloitte Consulting. Stacy came to realize that she was throwing good money down the drain on an apartment in Chicago in which she was paying $2,500 per month and spending no more than five nights there per month.
What was her solution? Well 33 year old Stacy figured that it was better to store her things at her friends and parents place. Because she's constantly onthe road, she leaves nearly 15 suits at the dry cleaners at each of the hotels that she visited.
According to this article in the local sentinel paper, Stacy is amongs a number of young analysts at consulting firms who are opting to go the nomadic route. Also, a survey conducted by the National Association of Colleges and Employers, Consultant was listed as one of the top 10 jobs for recent college graduates.
A recent report by careerbuilder.com shows however, that twenty-five percent of these young workers are not happy with this nomadic lifestyle.
One young consultant, Aaron Lasher, 23 puts it best when he says that 'everybody needs a home'. The the idea of not having a central location to come back to and regroup is not something that many of these consultants look forward to.
