Think Thin Thursday ~ There is NO Magic Pill

Real Estate Agent with Florida Supreme Realty SL514814

There is no magic pill for weight loss that comes without a cautionary tale. Being healthy and being skinny are not the same! The 3 top selling weight loss supplements in the U.S. are Garcinia Cambogia Extract, Hydoxycut and caffeine related products. Are they effective? Yes, but, and it's a BIG but, they won't usually keep the weight off without detrimental side effects.

Americans spend more than $60 billion dollars each year on products, at gyms and in grocery stores for goods and services directed at losing weight. Just as with insurance companies there is a risk / loss you must endure to attain a favorable result. Today I want to minimize the RISK with a book recommendation that can help almost anyone wanting to greatly improve their health and its only side effect is that you will lose weight or if you're "skinny" you may gain weight.

Lean Body PromiseMy book was a gift from the author at its initial printing in 1980 something. Easy to read and better yet, easy to under-stand, it is The Lean Body Promise with many revisions made since those early days. If you've tried everthing and nothing seems to work this book does what the title says. The Lean Body Promise can last a lifetime instead of fleeting moments.

All true, however, the magic pill myth still drives people to buy.  And what is so funny is that different experts many of them M.D's have contradicting opinions.  A

Whenever I read or hear the words "results not typical" it's a dead giveaway that's rarely heeded by the consumer.

I know two people who ended up in a hospital this summer trying to lose weight .I say be happy in your own skin .  Try to eat right and exercise . We all come in different sizes .  Beauty comes from within

When people tell me their "healthy" meal plans it's inevitable that protein is low on the list. When the beauty is found happiness is sure to follow.

Very true Kevin J. May NO MAGIC PILL exists!  Basic commone sense is required - eat properly, exercise regularly and get enough rest...and I bet the book you've mentioned incorporates these winning tips.  I'm not familiar with the book and will look into it - thanks!

I am trying to get to a place where I can eat as healthy as possible, I am getting there and hopefully it leads to results that I want from my body.

Over many years it's the mind that stifles our progress not our physical selves. Let me know when you're 90% of the way there Brian?

Hi Kevin, so true. I feel sorry for the millions of people who fall prey to these gimmicks. Sounds as if this book is a good alternative. And, I'll bet it's about a lifestyle and a mindset, not a specific pill or food. Although, I eat a clean, high protein diet. It's how I feel the best.  When I join others for a high carb treat, I suffer the discomfort. D

I was lucky to have a Grandmother whose life's work was in nutrition. As a student I was not always "given" an A from her but she taught me nonetheless.

Hi Kevin- the only magic elixir I know of is exercise, healthy eating, enough sleep, and good genes.

Sleep and hydration are two components that Americans are severely lacking for best health. Your elixer will definitely work.
