The Scoop: First Friday is a free self-guided tour of downtown's cutting-edge cultural hot spots. Local art galleries, art studios, alternative art venues, and museums stay open late the first Friday of every month to welcome thousands of art-seeking enthusiasts downtown. 2018 NC Japan Festival
The Scoop: Natsu matsuri time will soon be here! The 13th annual NC Japan Summer Festival organized by the Nippon Club of the Triangle continues to grow and is once again moving to a NEW, bigger and better venue this year. Mark your calendars, because this year's event is going to be truly spectacular! Delicious traditional Japanese food, interesting cultural displays and activities, and lots of music, dancing and other entertainment and games for families, couples and individuals.

Downtown Raleigh Food Truck Rodeo
The Scoop: There is perhaps no bigger downtown event series than the four food truck rodeos that overtake Fayetteville street each year. You'll find all different types of cuisine from pimento cheeseburgers to banana pudding cupcakes and pulled pork sandwiches. Over 50 food trucks and local beer vendors line Fayetteville Street—it'd be smart to bring your posse and make it an all-afternoon affair of sharing and sampling.
